What to Expect

Join us Thanksgiving weekend for our first Charity Hockey Event, featuring two games (Saturday) - University of Alberta Pandas vs MacEwan University Griffins and the Edmonton Oilers Alumni vs Edmonton Police Association, with both teams being joined by media personalities - at Clare Drake Arena. The multi-day event that also includes a Wing Night (Thursday) and a Try-Hockey Event (Sunday) for the families our shelters support. This exciting event is a first for the event concept and a celebration of collaboration. All funds will support five Edmonton & Area organizations coming together to end domestic violence!

This event is unlike any other in bringing together women’s shelters and women’s organizations to encourage a unified and collaborative community to enable us to make a significant impact. Our goal is to raise $200,000 to support domestic violence shelters serving the Edmonton Metropolitan Area through a series of hockey-themed events over the Thanksgiving long weekend. We want to make a difference and need your help to make that possible.

9:00 AM - Preregistration Required
Clare Drake Arena

On Sunday morning, we are back at Clare Drake Arena, for a private event. Families who recently stayed in the shelters will have the opportunity to learn to skate and play hockey with the University of Alberta Pandas, celebrity coaches, and Edmonton Oilers Alumni. An event like this can make all the difference in a young person’s life as they get a chance to experience what others often take for granted, a fun afternoon with family and friends. For families interested in pursuing hockey, we will connect them with community funders for hockey registration and equipment.

Kristy Wolfe, Board Member, Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation

“On behalf of the Board of the Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation, thank you to the individuals and organizations working diligently to bring domestic violence out in the open and support survivors. We began learning with the help of Staff Sergeant Collette Zazulak of the RCMP, and we are continuing to listen and learn with WIN House, Jessie’s House
and their partners.”
